I don't think the connector you linked is the right one. It might fit, but it's not the same one. The connectors used are the SFH series from JST: http://www.digikey.com/us/en/ph/JST/SFHseries.html?WT.z_Tab_Cat=Featured%20Products
I bought a few of them from digikey (note that you need to get the pins and housing separately).
However, looking at the battery you linked, it's likely that the leads are too think for these SFH connectors.
An alternative (which might be what you meant already) could be to remove the current battery socket from the board, exposing the holes underneat (which also connect to the battery input). In these holes (which have convenient standard 2.54mm spacing), you can then solder any board-to-wire connector (like the JST-XH.
